WOTC Questions: What is the maximum number of years that the WOTC credit can be claimed for a SNAP recipient?

At CMS, as Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) experts and service providers since 1997, we receive a lot of questions via our website’s chat box that we try to answer:

What is the maximum number of years that the WOTC credit can be claimed for a SNAP recipient?

CMS Says: The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Recipient category or target group is only able to be claimed for one year. You can claim up to 40% of their first-year’s wages up to $6,000 ($2,400) if they work at least 400 hours.
