CMS Responds: Sometimes the employee (or the new hire) asks the question “Why are you asking if I’m on SNAP (food stamps)?” Well the employer, or we are, as a company taking advantage of a federal program to initiate jobs. We need their participation, and if you are receiving SNAP we can get a tax credit for bringing you on board.
