How do I explain WHY we are asking if the applicant has been on SNAP?

CMS Says: It can absolutely feel awkward to ask some of the questions that appear on the 8850 and 9061 forms. One of the ways you can address this with your new hires is to include the WOTC paperwork (or website or call center) as part of your regular new hire paperwork such as the I-9 and W-4. OUR COMPANY NAME is participating in a federal jobs program and is requestion your assistance. Please complete the following to the best of your knowledge.

In order to meet the guidelines for this program, we are requesting your assistance in completing the following form(s). All information you provide will remain confidential, and will not impact the hiring process.

Your time and cooperation with this effort is greatly appreciated.
