WOTC Questions: What is the credit amount for Long-Term Unemployment Recipient?

At CMS, as Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) experts and service providers since 1997, we receive a lot of questions via our website’s chat box that we try to answer:

What is the credit amount for Long-Term Unemployment Recipient?

CMS Says: A qualified long-term unemployment recipient is one who has been unemployed for not less than 27 consecutive weeks at the time of hiring and received unemployment compensation during some or all or the unemployment period. The tax credit for hiring someone who qualifies for this tax credit and works at least 120 – 400 hours is $1,500. If they work more than 400 hours the tax credit is valued at $2,400.
